You can aim high
with the Crafter, particularly when it
comes to economy. The Crafter’s powerful
5-cylinder TDI engines have strong pulling
power and save on every mile. They have
consistently low consumption figures and
the Volkswagen hallmark of reliability.
With these power units you can also save
on noise as they are smooth-running and
have a pleasantly low noise level. The
Crafter’s graduated range of engines is
geared entirely to requirements. There
are four output categories of 65, 80,
100 and 120 kW1 so that you have exactly
the engine you need and optimal development
of power over a wide engine speed range.

A safe journey
– with ESP, ABS, TCS and EDL.
Safety
first: the Crafter is equipped with an
ultra-modern safety package. ESP, ABS, TCS and
EDL are standard so that you and your load arrive
safely at your destination. Whether driving in
bad weather or in poor road conditions – the Crafter
makes the best of every situation. The latest
generation of the electronic stabilisation programme
(ESP) adjusts individually to load conditions
for good cornering whether the vehicle is fully
loaded or empty.
- ESP, ABS, TCS and EDL as standard
- Hill holder is standard for Shiftmatic (available
as an option for manual gearbox)
- Audible reversing warning signal as an option,
is triggered automatically when reverse gear
is engaged
- Rain sensor and automatic driving light control

Safe
and sound: you are always well protected
in the Crafter. In addition to the standard driver’s
airbag, five more airbags are available as optional
extras (front passenger airbag, side airbags and
curtain airbags). The Crafter also has high body
stiffness and therefore very robust, safe build
quality. The 16" running gear ensures greater
cornering stability and helps to keep the Crafter
on track.
